These are hard times for all businesses - possibly even more so for non-profits.  We are all feeling the effects of the present economic situation.

In addition to giving IMOM an economic boost the same thing will happen for another animal welfare organization.  25% of out profits will be given to a winning 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization.

This contest has multiple purposes and goals.  When we have a fund raiser at IMOM we like for our visitors to walk away with something besides just a receipt for their donation.

If you care to read further I'm going to talk  about our purposes and goals for this contest.  The menu on the left will enable you to navigate to rules and instructions if you'd rather take the short cut.

Purpose  - To replenish our General emergency fund

Donations to our general funds as well as donations to our PIN kids are at an all time low.  We watch our spending and approve only those cases we feel really, really need help.  We are trying very hard to keep our doors open through this economic crisis.  It is getting more and more difficult as donations continue to drop.

Goal: raise a minimum of $15,000

Purpose - To award a LUVBUG grant to a winning animal welfare 501(c)(3)

The LuvBug Grant is awarded to 501(c)(3) animal welfare organizations at the discretion of our Board of Directors.

IMOM will be honored to award 25% of profit from this contest to the winning animal welfare organization.

Goal - a minimum GRant of $5000

Purpose - To demonstrate the joys of adoption

Whether your adopted pet was found as a stray or adopted from a shelter or rescue, they were once homeless - and you have a story to tell.  A story of how your adopted pet has enriched your life.

Those who have never adopted a pet have no idea what they've missed!  Perhaps you will be the one who convinces our readers the adopt!

Goal - for one person to choose the adoption option

Purpose - To demonstrate the extraordinary bond one shares with a special needs pet

Often times, a pet with special needs is euthanized simply because no one wants to accept the responsibility of their care.  Sometimes, not even the family they have spent their lives with.

If you have ever had a pet with special needs you know about that extra special bond.  It's a bond that makes all the special attention so worth while - for both you and your pet.

Goal - for people to consider adopting a pet with special needs

    Spay and neuter

This is Tasha.  Tasha died from pyometra when she was only 4 years old.  Spaying prevents pyometra.

Spaying also eliminates the possibility of uterine or ovarian cancer and greatly reduces the incidence of breast cancer, particularly when your pet is spayed before her first estrous cycle.

Neutering eliminates testicular cancer and decreases the incidence of prostate disease.

Spaying and neutering can eliminate or reduce the incidence of a number of health problems that can be very difficult or expensive to treat.
